Pakistan United
Pakistan United: A movement spearheaded by the youth of Pakistan to instill in our society a sense of responsibility towards our nation and all that it entails. "Hamari zaat, Hamaray log"
Our mission:
Our mission is to start separate initiatives for the various problems our nation faces, from education to domestic violence, from poverty to drug abuse, from environmental degradation to women empowerment. But for now we plan to deal with one problem at a time.
With a unified approach we, the youth of Pakistan, can succeed into bringing back hope into the lives of our people and perhaps be of service to our nation in some way possible.
Decide today what you want your country to be like tomorrow.

Happy Independence Day!
Another year went by in a blink of an eye. Today we'll watch patriotic shows on tv, just like we did last year, we'll see crowds celebrating out on the streets, just like we did last year, we'll dress up in white and green , wear our badges, grab our flags, attend rallies, just like we did last year.
Unless we change, this year will go by the same way last year did. And we'll do it all again next year. Is that all we'll ever do? Update statuses, chant slogans of 'Go green' and watch patriotic shows?
Hopefully, this year will be the year of change. Many of us will start universities abroad, spending thousands of dollars on our education, some more than others. Would it hurt to think about those who will never see the inside of a classroom? What's Rs.1000 a month compared to thousands of dollars? Is it really that difficult to sponsor a child's education at that price? Would it kill us to ensure another child's education along with our own?
We saw what generations before us did. They've had their chance. Now its our turn. Its up to us. Many of us have left or are leaving our country seeking education, just like generations before us did. The question to ask ourselves is if we'll return, because they didn't.
We have grown up on the mercy of this land. We've eaten what grew from it, lived in houses built on it, we've taken and its given. We owe this country everything. And we give back nothing. Each year we wake up this very day, kiss her on the forehead, wish her happy birthday and go on our way.
Give Pakistan something this year. Give her the promise that you'll try, try to pay her back, try to help her through these trying times. Assure her that she's not alone, that you're right by her side, that you'll help her get through it all. Grab her frail hand, and don't let go this time. Would we leave our parents to die if they're sick? Then how can we leave our country? Give her your vow to do all that you can to bring her back to health, to prosperity, to glory.
"Azaadi qurbaani maangti he, haasil honey ke liay, aur qaaim rehnay ke liay"
We achieved freedom 64 years ago, but for it to remain, for it to prevail, we need to sacrifice. To work hard. To give. Like the people who sacrificed all in 1947.
"Do not be over whelmed by the enormity of the task. There is many an example in history of young nations building themselves up by sheer determination and force of character. You are made of sterling material and are second to none. Why should you also not succeed like many others, like your own forefathers. You have only to develop the spirit of the "Mujahids". You are a nation whose history is replete with people of wonderful grit, character and heroism. Live up to your traditions and add to it another chapter of glory" Quaid-e-Azam 1947
We wish you all a very happy independence day. And we pray that may we all change for the better this year. We pray that those leaving return to work for our motherland, those living here work hard to make it as glorious as it was in 1947, and those who don't care, start to care.
Stand up citizen of Pakistan and do your part.

How you can help:
Dear members,
This is a reminder that Pakistan United has collaborated with Institute of Education and Awareness for our current Education project.
The details of the expenses that this charity school faces each year have been mentioned in the earlier post. We would like to request you all to please start donating as we will be visiting the school soon and need to donate a sufficient amount. This initiative is for people living in Lahore. For people in Faisalabad, please get in touch with the schools admin and donate directly.
Rs1000/per month will sponsor a childs education.
We also encourage pair sponsorship. Friends can sponsor a child together for Rs.500 a month.
Incase someone does not want to sponsor a child we encourage you to donate anything you can afford. Even Rs.100 makes a difference. For donations please mail us at pakistanunited10@gmail.com. We will guide you to the nearest drop off point or pick up your donations ourselves. Upon donating you will receive a receipt.
Along with this we are also conducting a toy and a book drive for the same charity school. Some of these children have never played with toys much rather owned any so please donate anything you can. As far as the book drive is concerned please donate books that are whole and usable.
You all may have heard about the horrendous incident that occurred a few days ago concerning Rangers. The situation was much like the brutal Sialkot killings that happened not too long ago. An educated man would never act with such barbarianism. Education reduces poverty. Education reduces extremism. Education empowers. And education is the only thing that can save Pakistan, lack of education is the root cause of almost all the problems we see today.
Its time to wake up and shoulder the responsibility we've been avoiding for all this time.
Stop ignoring the chaos you see around you and stop labeling them off as somebody else's problems. Be the change you want to see.

Donation Details
Dear members,
Below are the details of average yearly expenses that SNMS faces:
Rent: 110400
Teacher salary: 420000
Books per year till grade 5: 80000
Stationery: 40000
Food (8 months): 192000
Electricity: 40000
Uniforms (yearly) for 200 students 1,00000
Gas/telephone/water bills 10,000
Transportation charges for field trips 6000
Furniture/paint/benches/plates/glasses 10,000
Generator fuel/gas (5 months) 10,000
Seminars/marketing material 5000
Yearly TOTAL Rs. 10, 23400
US$ 12,040
Incase anyone is interested in sponsoring a child the cost is:
● Child Sponsorship Program:
Rs. 1000 per child, (Food and uniform included)
The school follows up to date HEC curriculum and offers student quality education for free. Not only do they offer free education, they also provide free food, uniforms and stationary to encourage more people to enroll their children.
They also have a women empowerment program where women come to attend workshops to learn stitching and sewing.
Blatantly put, its an absolute terrific effort by someone just like you. The project has now mashAllah grown and expanded and the school cannot expect to fund itself for long without any sponsors or donors. We all go to our fancy schools everyday and get good education, we are luckier than 7 million children who have never been enrolled in primary school.
Its not just about donating, its about donating effectively. We've seen charity schools offering free education whose quality is horrifying. SNMS offers good quality education for free. For any one challenging this we ask you to go check out the school yourself.
A Rs.1000 may not mean much to us, but it may change someones futures drastically.
Its time to quit whining about how "Pakistan mein kuch nahi raha". If a 100 people read this today and donate a mere Rs.1000, we will manage to raise up to Rs.100000.
Its not impossible and its not a problem thats too huge for us to solve. We've done it in the past and we can do it again.
Act now and donate.

Pakistan United For Education
Dear members,
We would like to thank everyone for the tremendous help and support we've received on our first project Pakistan United for flood victims. Pakistan United has now officially started its education program and are pleased to announce our collaboration with Institute of Education and Awareness in tackling the problem of education emergency that our nation is facing. We have started fund raising operations and encourage all members to please donate as much as possible. Lack of education is the crux of almost every problem that our nation faces today. We encourage all of you to start donating as soon as possible. Our team will also be going down to the school in Faisalabad to visit the kids and for workshops inshAllah, members are welcome and encouraged to intern there in the summer.
Updates on how and where you can donate will be uploaded on the group and page wall soon. If anyone needs us to pick up their donations or has any queries please feel free to email us.
If you can read this and understand it, you are luckier than at least 7 million children who are not enrolled in primary school. And as blessed as you are you also have an obligation to fill as the educated class of Pakistan.
Pakistan ranks second in the global ranking of out of school children. The chance of us meeting the Millennium Development Goal by 2015? Zero.
Lets change the statistics. Lets show the world we are bigger than what is called a "problem of global dimensions". Lets unite and help build a better, brighter and an educated Pakistan.
Donate everything, something, anything at all. And do it today.

Happy Pakistan Resolution Day!
“I particularly appeal to our intelligentsia and students to
come forward and rise to the occasion. You have performed wonders in the past. You are still capable of repeating the history. You are not lacking in the great qualities and virtues in comparison with the other nations. Only you have to be fully conscious of that fact and to act with courage, faith and unity.”
(Quaid-e-Azam 23rd March 1943)
Dear members,
We celebrate Pakistan Resolution Day today. We celebrate 64 years of independence. We celebrate 64 years of freedom... But do we really?
There is a list of tragedies that have occurred to our nation in
recent years that should be listed here but that list would be very very long.
To shorten it up a bit; from Dr. Afia to Raymond Davis, from Asia bibi to the hajj corruption issue, from Mughees and Muneeb to the thousand anonymous others, from Salman Taseer to Shahbaz Bhatti, from thousands of mothers praying to God for a miracle as their children cry to sleep hungry to the fabulous french cuisine-alcohol laden events we so eagerly wait to gossip about after every Sunday, from the flood wiping away over 1/4 of Pakistan to the education and medical emergency, from the earthquake to the terrorism existing in our country, from everyone who voted for the current government to everyone who didn't bother to vote at all.
From all of the above and more, what have we learned? In these 64 years, what have we, the educated class, learned?
Itehad, Iman aur Tanzeem. The principles on which our country was founded. The meaning of these words we seem to have forgotten. Today we ask you to think. Think this 23rd of March of what you want your nation to be. We plead you to not sit and debate over causes to unite,we beg you to set aside your differences for once in this country's rocky history, we ask you to let the green and the white in your flag co-exist peacefully, we implore you to let this be the day you decide to work for Pakistan's cause rather than your own, we request you to learn. To learn something from the trauma she has been through. We entreat you to stop the discussions and the debates, the arguments and the theories, the judgments and the clashes, We ask you to step up. We ask you to stop looking for people to step up with or for.
We ask you to ponder on whether this is the Pakistan our ancestors dreamt of. We ask you not to limit your patriotism to cricket. We ask you to observe our circumstances and decide if you did a good job protecting what was given to you 64 years ago.
Sign the Education Emergency petition right now.
Take a certain sum from your pocket money every month and donate it to acause of your choice.
Take responsibility for your servants children's education.
Donate blood to a nearby hospital.
Take flowers, clothes anything at all to an old age home.
Intern at a school this summer.
Donate all your books and stationary to a school nearby.
Ask your servant if there is anyone needy in their community and provide assistance if possible.
Donate clothes, money to reliable NGO's still working for the flood affectees.
Go to the hospital and inquire if there are any patients needing financial assistance.
Can't manage any of the above?
Then just smile at your servant, say salam first and treat them with the respect they deserve.
Decide today what you want your country to be like tomorrow.
We wish you all a very Happy Pakistan Resolution Day in the hope that Unity, Faith and Discipline may become the crux of the beliefs our country functions on from now onwards.

The Prophet replied: "He should work with his hands and benefit himself and also give in charity (from what he earns)." The people further asked: "If he cannot find even that?" He replied: "He should help the needy who appeal for help." Then the people asked: "If he cannot do (even) that?" The Prophet said finally: "Then he should perform good deeds and keep away from evil deeds, and that will be regarded as charitable deeds." - Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 2, Hadith 524

Prove to the world that we have what it takes to be Pakistani.

Initiation of Phase 3: Rehabilitation
Dear members,
TEAM Pakistan United is pleased to announce that we have officially initiated our new project and have now entered the third phase; rehabilitation. We are working with Captain Taimoor Rahat and have mashAllah begun the reconstruction of demolished houses in Tehsil Dera Ghazi Khan In DG KHAN.
In this particular area the number of houses demolished is the following:
Houses damaged(completely) 6055
Houses damaged (partially) 18137
It is impossible for us to adopt an entire village and reconstruct it completely due to lack of funds so our plan is to start with one house at a time.
TEAM Pakistan United has already given money for the reconstruction of 3 completely damaged houses.
Our target, by the end of this year, is to help fund the reconstruction of at least a total of 10 houses.
The cost of the reconstruction per house will be posted up soon, we urge you all to participate. With winters approaching the need of a roof on their heads is immense. Giving someone a roof to live in is a big deal, and you can be part of doing something this solid.
We request you to please start sending in your cash donations.
For everyone who doubts where the money is going, we will be receiving another letter from the army stating that Pakistan United is indeed working with them. We will also be posting up a complete detailed portfolio.
If anyone is interested in adopting a family and paying for their house reconstruction fully or partially, we will encourage them to contact the family(we will provide the details) so they know exactly how much their donation has affected someone's life.
After the reconstruction of the houses Pakistan United has funded, we will also be arranging a trip for donors and the rest of the team to go and see the houses and affectees for themselves.
The hype of helping the flood victims is already dying down and people have now started to turn away from donation boxes saying they've already donated.
Understand this citizen of Pakistan, if they don't have you, they don't have anyone. Do not forsake them at a time like this. What if the flood took away your house, your family, and your life?
They are not begging for our money, neither do they deserve that insult, they deserve what we deserve, if not better.
Ask yourself this question, what do you think you deserve?
Rise up citizen of Pakistan and do your part.
