Our mission is to start separate initiatives for the various problems our nation faces, from education to domestic violence, from poverty to drug abuse, from environmental degradation to women empowerment. But for now we plan to deal with one problem at a time.

With a unified approach we, the youth of Pakistan, can succeed into bringing back hope into the lives of our people and perhaps be of service to our nation in some way possible.

WINTER COLLECTION:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Every Muslim has to give in charity." The people then asked: "(But what) if someone has nothing to give, what should he do?" The Prophet replied: "He should work with his hands and benefit himself and also give in charity (from what he earns)." The people further asked: "If he cannot find even that?" He replied: "He should help the needy who appeal for help." Then the people asked: "If he cannot do (even) that?" The Prophet said finally: "Then he should perform good deeds and keep away from evil deeds, and that will be regarded as charitable deeds." - Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 2, Hadith 524

With the onslaught of winters, Team Pakistan United has now decided to send in winter necessities as soon as possible. The 7th dispatchment mA will be leaving around the first week of January inshAllah, we urge all of you to please send in as much as you can. Items that you can donate can be anything from warm blankets/clothes and sweaters, to food rations or heaters/stove attached cylinders.(Warm clothes are preferred)
Please make sure that all the clothing items you send are properly washed and packed in individual bags, if you cannot do that, make sure that the items you send in are at the very least clean and our team will pack the clothes accordingly.
We urge you to not forget the victims at a time like this, with such a blessed month upon us, let us not forget those in need of our help and do as much as we can.Already we seem to have forgotten the flood victims and have gotten back to our lives without feeling even the slightest need to turn back and look at those who lost everything... Prove to the world that we are not a heedless people, that we care, that we are one, that we do not leave our own brothers and sisters at a time when they need us. Prove to the world that we have what it takes to be Pakistani.

"And,of surety , to all will your Lord pay back(in full the recompense) of their deeds: for He knows well all that they do" 11:111 Holy Quran

Initiation of Phase 3: Rehabilitation

Dear members,
TEAM Pakistan United is pleased to announce that we have officially initiated our new project and have now entered the third phase; rehabilitation. We are working with Captain Taimoor Rahat and have mashAllah begun the reconstruction of demolished houses in Tehsil Dera Ghazi Khan In DG KHAN.
In this particular area the number of houses demolished is the following:
Houses damaged(completely) 6055
Houses damaged (partially) 18137

It is impossible for us to adopt an entire village and reconstruct it completely due to lack of funds so our plan is to start with one house at a time.
TEAM Pakistan United has already given money for the reconstruction of 3 completely damaged houses.
Our target, by the end of this year, is to help fund the reconstruction of at least a total of 10 houses.
The cost of the reconstruction per house will be posted up soon, we urge you all to participate. With winters approaching the need of a roof on their heads is immense. Giving someone a roof to live in is a big deal, and you can be part of doing something this solid.
We request you to please start sending in your cash donations.
For everyone who doubts where the money is going, we will be receiving another letter from the army stating that Pakistan United is indeed working with them. We will also be posting up a complete detailed portfolio.
If anyone is interested in adopting a family and paying for their house reconstruction fully or partially, we will encourage them to contact the family(we will provide the details) so they know exactly how much their donation has affected someone's life.

After the reconstruction of the houses Pakistan United has funded, we will also be arranging a trip for donors and the rest of the team to go and see the houses and affectees for themselves.

The hype of helping the flood victims is already dying down and people have now started to turn away from donation boxes saying they've already donated.
Understand this citizen of Pakistan, if they don't have you, they don't have anyone. Do not forsake them at a time like this. What if the flood took away your house, your family, and your life?
They are not begging for our money, neither do they deserve that insult, they deserve what we deserve, if not better.
Ask yourself this question, what do you think you deserve?

Rise up citizen of Pakistan and do your part.

Why the army?

For all those wondering WHY we choose to work with the army, please take a look at the following points.

1.Chinooks. It takes thousands of liters of fuel per hour for the Chinook to fly, and due to this limitation, they only fly when they are at full capacity. Otherwise it is not feasible for the army to fly them. In fact, the situation is so desperate that the army at times prefers not to even land them at the destination, just because of the huge amount of oil consumption in landing and take off process. Idle Chinooks are a huge opportunity cost to the nation; as they can carry thousands of Kgs and in doing so, serve thousands of families.

Our motto is simple:

WHY NOT FILL THE CHINOOKS RATHER THAN FILLING TRUCKS?

2. Distribution. We as individuals or even NGO’s do not possess enough resources to efficiently manage all the stocks and distribute them. One truck costs about 26000, or a shehzore costs about 8000 (estimated). Instead of incurring these costs on our own, and then sending trucks to locations which are already easily accessible to everyone through roads, what we can do is leave it to the army. They already have enough logistics and resources to efficiently manage all this.

LET DISTRIBUTION BE THEIR HEAD ACHE, AND PROVIDING THEM WITH GOODS BE OURS!

3. Security. We as students do not have enough resources to ensure the safety of the stock, in effect endangering our own and other people's lives. There have been numerous incidents where trucks have been looted and people being shot en route. True, these events are rare, especially in more well known cities, but the remote villages are vulnerable to these attacks. So its better for almost everyone to let this be handled by an institution responsible for the safe keeping of our country.

STAY SAFE!

4. Inconvenience. By setting up our own camps everywhere, we are being an inconvenience to the government and the army, especially if we ask for their help for security, support and logistics anyway. Incase we do set up a camp it will only be for strict fundraising possibilities.

BE A STEPPING STONE, NOT AN OBSTACLE.

5. Locations. How do we identify the targets? This is one of the major problems faced by us all. True, it is very easy to send trucks filled with relief items to NOWSHERA or KOT-ADDU, but that’s not exactly the solution we should be looking for, now should we? Unless we can perfectly manage to identify the right locations to distribute aid, and ensure that we can actually access them, given our limited resources, there really is no point. The reason why we stress on army is that they have a game plan, at least somewhat if not a very comprehensive one, and they are strategically dealing with the situation.

DONATE, BUT THE RIGHT GOODS ,AT THE RIGHT PLACE, AND AT THE RIGHT TIME

Our model is very simple, we receive specific dispatch requirements, gather as much aid as possible, pack it as required and deliver. It’s simple, small-scale, and efficient. We are not working FOR the army, we are not working FOR any organizations, all we are trying to do is
-Utilize maximum resources by saving money and trying to find cheapest possible goods(which is why cash donations are preferred as we try to buy in bulk),
-To facilitate transactions between civilians and the army/NGO’s.
We will ensure the safe delivery of our donations through our personal contacts. You will receive a receipt against any cash donations made and we would appreciate it you donated exactly what we ask of you, which will be exactly what the affectees require.

3rd dispatchment update

Dear Members,
Our third dispatchment has been successfully distributed in Mehmood kot,Muzaffargarh(including area surrounding thermal power plant), MashAllah.
We will upload pictures as soon as we receive them. The 3rd dispatchment was sent through our volunteers, accompanied by Pakistan Rangers. Our 4rth dipatchment will inshAllah be sent on either Tuesday night, or Wednesday morning.
From this point onwards, Pakistan United will be focusing on working to collect aid for the Pakistani Army only.
Our motto is simple, instead of gathering aid which results in useless unwanted items there, and massive wastage of resources, we use our resources where required. We wait for orders from people working with army personnel, and then focus on the NEEDED items. It has proved to be effective and efficient. We urge everyone else to do the same.

Dispatch Requirements

Dear members,
We have received special requirements from people working with army personnel. They are in urgent need of kids clothing and family food packs. Please start sending in your cash donations OR send in proper family packs (see the discussion tab for details of what a family pack comprises of). It would be easy for us if you send in exactly what we ask for. The point is to make a cohesive unit and dispatch exactly what is required of us. Work with us and send in what we ask for.

Our model is simple: Receive specific dispatch requirements, arrange as much aid as possible, pack it as required and deliver it.

Sponsor a Cylinder!

Dear members,
Due to the flood destroying all fire wood, the dry rations we send are turning out useless since they have no stoves to cook them on.
FAS engineering industries pvt have agreed to make portable 6kg gas filled cylinders with stoves attached for Rs.1600 which originally cost Rs.2600
(FAS manufactured cylinders are recommended by O.G.R.A,ISO 9001:2000 certified company)
If you want to buy a cylinder yourself PLEASE MAKE SURE THEY ARE O.G.R.A recommended otherwise do NOT buy them as they will be highly dangerous.

Anyone who wants to sponsor a cylinder please start sending in your cash donations (We will send you a receipt as soon as your cylinder has been made)
